Teeth Whitening in Nottingham

Teeth whitening is one of the simplest and easiest things you can do to improve your smile. It’s a small change that makes a big difference, making you look instantly younger and healthier.

How it works

Tooth whitening does more than remove surface stains – the whitening solution works right down to the porous tissue inside the tooth, whitening from within. It’s really efficient and will lighten your teeth significantly, restoring a healthy, natural colour.

The process is so safe and simple you can do it at home – in fact, that’s our preferred method. At your appointment, we’ll give you the whitening solution and take an impression of your teeth to make a transparent gum shield. The appointment takes about 40 minutes, with plenty of time for you to understand the process and ask questions. At home, you use the shield to hold the solution against your teeth while you sleep. This procedure costs £399 and you can expect to see results in two to six weeks.

How long the treatment lasts will depend on a range of factors, including your eating and drinking habits. Very gradually, the shade will darken again, so you may choose to have regular top-up treatments every few months.

Who it’s suitable for

Tooth whitening is suitable for most adults – and if for any reason it’s not suitable for you, we’ll explain this fully and talk about alternative ways to get the results you want. Whitening will take the teeth that show when you smile to a naturally whiter shade, but it does have limitations. If you’re after a dazzling, Hollywood-style look, this can only be achieved with veneers.

It may not be suitable if you have tooth decay or cavities as it could make these teeth painful – even if they feel fine before treatment. If you have gum disease, however, then whitening can actually be beneficial.
